Luau Records are proud to release the world's first ever quadruple-double-a-side single! We certainly think it is anyway. Can you think of another? Hope not.

We used to love the classic double a-side single. Two tracks from a band, both stylistically similar, but complimentary to each other. Both worthy of being a statement track for the band. A self-contained musical modus operandi, all on a nice slab of vinyl. Not a single on the a-side with some knocked together cast-off, demo or megamix on the other side. A classic one-two.

What you've got here are 4 of those, by four great bands, all housed together to create a quadruple-double-a-side single (Or Quad Dub for short [Or QD? No, that's too far, keep it at Quad Dub]), with each double-a-side having its own interplay with the other. Heady stuff. If we were better at maths we could work out the dimensions or magnitudes this all goes to, but a C at GCSE isn't going to get you that.

All you really need to know is this: two UK bands on side A, two US bands on side B. All of them roughly grouped together under the umbrella of "indie rock", but all coming at it from their own angle. First off is Wicketkeeper. Proponents of what they call Coast Rock, a scrappy upbeat racket, they've shared the stage with Kiran Leonard, Naomi Punk, Colleen Green, Fist City and Eugene Quell among others.

Brunch, formed featuring former Krill drummer Luke Pyenson received a lot of comparisons to Pavement on their recent single, Yowie/Sick Maschine, released by Fierce Panda, but there's a heck of a lot more to them than that. In their own words "Some of the songs are poppy, some are weird. Some are both and some are quite heavy with shouting and that."

First up representing the US is Hyperturf with Alone/Afraid. Following on from the there...EP we released back in 2014, this new duo of tracks has built on the "R-Pollard-fronting-Pavement-on-Captured-Tracks" formula, coming off like a classic lost Shimmy Disc 7".

And rounding off the release is Car Seat Headrest, who since the planning of this release have gone stratospheric. First coming to our attention with the release of their 2013 album Nervous Young Man (seriously one of the greatest albums of the 21st century), they followed it up with How To Leave Town the following year. Featured on this release is an alternative take on America from that album, along with the unreleased Culture from around that time.

The Quad Dub is being released on 12" on Record Store Day 2016. Support your local independent stores! It will then be available on here from April 23rd.
